Yesterday brought me back
To a thousand more yesterdays
Back to when the April sun held your smiles
And shined them down in rays

A thousand more yesterdays
I traveled through time
Remembering when you and I
Seemed so perfectly in rhyme

A wish for another time and place
And maybe, in another age
I’ll cross the same path where you are
And maybe, so far, we can run away

A million and one unsent letters
Yesterday added something new
It brought me back to that thousand yesterdays
To that 19th of April, when I last saw you

I’ll laugh at this one day
And regret all the million and one
But regret even more the fact
I never sent either one
