Déjà vu
by Reginald Bueno
Opening the doors to meet the damned, a young colorful feathered animal is being laid upon the tablet. As the tattooed cannibals prepared for the rites, young children scaffolds beneath the corner; waiting for the celebration of the feast started by the envoy- a destroyer.
Dances for the doomed were around its place.
Do they have compassion for the beauty of its living, or spread the thirst of their gods? Its bowels are much of their absolute concern, no other choices been made- like there are no others. The envoy reached for the very sharp blade and pointed to the helpless bird at a short distance. Screaming for mercy, the bird breathed its last. With no display of emotions he slashed the appointed sacrifice. A sudden darkness has flooded the whole scenario.
The bird is gone indeed and indeed it is gone with the shaman, the people and whole tribe, leaving only one colored feather insight. Then at dawn same as the norms the tribe attempted to kill the bird of different colors again.
