Winter Comes

Winter Comes
by The Lonely One

Days go by and the seasons grow cold.
Where is the warmth that people hold?
Security, kindness love and care,
All have left as snow dance in the air.

Where has all the warmth gone?
It escaped as winter dawned.
It shall sleep a slumber so deep
That those who strive shall never reap.

The Earth is frozen by lonely tears,
Coming from our sorrows and fears.
Frigid winds banish security,
Eating away all the Earth’s purity

Spring is meant to banish the chill
Yet for years, I am waiting still.
When shall the ice that freezes my soul
Melt and let my heart be whole?
